Tammy is the Chief Administrative Officer with the District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board. The District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) delivers social service programs in the District of Parry Sound to 23 Municipalities and townships without Municipal Organization. The DSSAB is responsible for the delivery of a number of social services including: Children’s Services, Income Support & Stability, Housing Services and Violence Against Women services.
For over twenty years, as a Registered Psychotherapist and a respected community leader she has specialized in behavioral health from a front-line and leadership perspective, in both hospital and community–based programs. The focus of her work has been the provision of services for people facing issues of mental health, substance abuse, poverty, social isolation, marginalization, discrimination and homelessness. Prior to joining the DSSAB in 2020, she has held positions with the North East Local Health Integration Network, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, The Jean Tweed Centre, Fred Victor Centre and The YMCA of Greater Toronto.
Tammy’s formal educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Prince Edward Island where she majored in in Psychology and Sociology, a certificate in non-profit management from Schulich School of Business at York University and a Master of Education degree in Community Development and Adult Education with a notation in Workplace Learning and Social Change from the University of Toronto.
